MLC re-polling concludes: Results on March 22

Hyderabad: Re-polling for MLC elections under MLA quota for Mahbubnagar-RangaReddy-Hyderabad was completed today and results will be announced on March 22 after counting of votes polled.

Teachers in large numbers turned up to exercise their franchise at the 126 polling stations in three districts. According to the information, the poll percentage reached 70 per cent by 4 pm and it was recorded at 68.88 per cent. The Election Commission arranged 126 polling stations with all facilities and the electors were found standing in queues for casting their votes.

The officials said those standing in queues till 6 pm are being allowed to vote while there are a total of 23,789 voters in three districts. Though election was held on March 9, re-polling of MLC election was necessitated as there was mix-up of candidates’ photographs in ballot papers. The vote counting will be done on March 22 and all arrangements are being made at Amberpet GHMC Indoor Stadium.
