After 14 long months and 3648 kilometers, YSRCP President YS Jagan's ambitious Padayatra has come to an end today in Ichchapuram, Srikakulam. On this occasion, Jagan addressed a large gathering and announced several sops to the farmer's community in Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan said that if given power, his next party will transform each parliamentary constituency in the state into a district and divide the existing 13 districts in 25 for better administration. Jagan further said he will set up village secretariats and employ local youths to ensure the government schemes reach a large number of people.
The much welcomed announcement in Jagan's speech was the 9 hour free electricity and a monetary compensation of Rs 12,500 in the month of May for farmers. Also, Jagan announced a complete waiver of road tax on the tractors purchased by farmers.
Furthermore, Rs 5 lakhs for the families of deceased farmers under YSR Bhima and setting up of cold storage and food processing units in every mandal, fixing the minimum guarantee amount even before farmers begin farming, allotting of Rs 3,000 crores for the minimum guarantee amount for crops and another Rs 4,000 crores for disaster relief fund were part of Jagan's promises during his speech.
