There was a time when people used to be scared of heroine-oriented films. They used to say that heroine-oriented films can not attract the audience even though the movie is made wonderfully. It was a common belief that such films won't be successful commercially. But the situation has been changed in the past few years.
Audience are receiving lady-oriented films with open hands in Bollywood and in South now. Kangana Ranaut in Hindi.. Anushka in Telugu.. Nayanthara in Tamil have changed the perception of the people towards lady-oriented films. Several films in Hindi including 'Queen' minted money at the box office. Movies like 'Arundhati' achieved wonderful success in South. All these films proved that lady-oriented films can be commercially successful if they are made with good content.
Another Indian film has proven the same thing now. It is Bollywood film 'Raazi' starring Alia Bhatt. The movie went on to become a super hit at the box office. The movie has grossed more than Rs.200 crores. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that the movie has grossed Rs.207 crores in the full run. The movie has registered decent collections in the fifth and sixth weeks as well.
The movie has grossed Rs.100 crores in the first week itself.. and it has touched Rs.207 crores gross in the full run. This is one of the highest grossers of 2018. Alia Bhatt delivered superb performance as a spy who marries a Pakistani guy and goes to Pakistan on a mission. Meghna Gulzar directed the film and Karan Johar is the producer.
