The Jubilee Hills Police on Saturday night arrested popular producer C Kalyan on charges of assaulting and sexually abusing a lady doctor.

Dr Kavitha, a resident of Vimal Apartments on Road No 5 of Jubilee Hills lodged a complaint against Kalyan claiming that he had threatened her to sell her flat to her. Kalyan, who resides in the same apartments, has also assaulted and abused her, according to her. She further alleged that Kalyan threatened to waylay her and hurt her. He also threatened to kill her, according to the complaint.

Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Kalyan on Saturday night. He was later released on furnishing of a bail.
