Prabhas has gained immense recognition post the success of magnum-opus drama ‘Baahubali,’ which released in multiple languages.
Soon, after ‘Baahubali- The Conclusion,’ speculations about the leading lady for Prabhas’ next- ‘Saaho’ started doing the rounds. Names such as Anushka Shetty, Katrina Kaif and others had emerged.
It was Deccan Chronicle, who informed the readers about Shraddha Kapoor being locked for ‘Saaho.’
An entertainment portal reports that Shraddha Kapoor had charged Rs 12 crores, sincxe the work would be taxing and she wouldn’t take up any other project during filming ‘Saaho’. But, she had to later settle down on Rs 3 crores.
As per the same report, for the same film, Prabhas will be paid Rs 30 crore, which is higher than his last pay for ‘Baahubali’.
A source quoted the portal saying, “Saaho’ will be shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Romania. Prabhas will take the 30 crores as remuneration and more than triple of what Shraddha is getting today! Saaho will be shot in Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Romania and every character in the film has many shades but Prabhas himself will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar and will be seen doing lots of modern-day action and will be undergoing training. His role is completely different from Baahubali. Post that he’s also raised his market price from Rs. 25 crore to 30 crore (approx) and deservingly so."
Pay disparity has always been a topic of discussion in the film industry.
Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho will be made with an extravagant budget of over Rs 150 crore. This film will see Prabhas in an action role, sporting a clean-shaven look.
Neil Nitin Mukesh has been cast as the antagonist of the film. "Saaho is a larger-than-life film and, post Baahubali, the entire nation is rooting for Prabhas. And where there is a mega hero, there will always be a mega villain too. My character has many shades like every other character in the film. It’s quite an exciting project, Sujeeth has a great vision. Saaho will be the biggest action film of 2018," he said.
'Saaho' has already gone on the floors in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City, and Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas are expected to begin shooting for it on August 19. The film is slated to release in 2018.
