Basking in the success of ‘Naachiyar’, ace filmmaker Bala has begun work on his next ‘Varma’, a Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’. The film officially went on floors at Kathmandu in Nepal last week.
While the shoot is currently on in full swing, speculations were rife that actress Gautami’s daughter Subhalaxmi was all set to make her acting debut with ‘Varma’. However, Gautami has quashed the rumours.
Taking it to Twitter, Gautami wrote, “Taken aback to see news about my daughter's acting debut. Subhalaxmi is committed to her studies and has no plans for acting now. Thank you all for your blessings on her.”
The makers haven’t finalised the heroine and unconfirmed reports speculated that Subhalaxmi might star alongside Dhruv, who is making his acting debut with this film. According to reports, Vikram specifically wanted Bala - who gave him a breakthrough with ‘Sethu’ - to launch his son. If things go well,
‘Varma’ is slated for a release by the end of this year.
‘Arjun Reddy’ was a stupendous hit in Telugu that shot actor Vijay Deverakonda to stardom. In Tamil, Dhruv will reprise Deverakonda’s character of a surgeon-turned-alcoholic
