Tabu who made her Telugu debut with Ninne Pelladata in 1996, was last seen in blockbuster Hindi movie Golmaal Again starring Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu, Prakash Raj, Johny Lever and Neil Nitin Mukesh, has been roped in for a significant role in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Eid 2019 release Bharat in which Salman Khan is playing the lead role.
Priyanka Chopra is already on the board to play the female lead in Salman Khan starrer Bharat. Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra were reuniting, a decade after God Tussi Great Ho, for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. Bharat is an official remake of the Korean film, An Ode To My Father.
Subsequently, Sunil Grover and Loafer beauty Disha Patani have been roped in to play the friend of Salman Khan and a trapeze artiste in a ’60s circus respectively in this period-drama. Now, Tabu has also joined the ensemble cast.
Tabu and Salman Khan have already worked for several projects in past like Sohail Khan film Jai Ho, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Jeet, Biwi No 1 etc. Tabu is known as a powerhouse of talent. Tabu has won the National Film Award for Best Actress twice, and has received six Filmfare Awards, including a record four Critics Awards for Best Actress. Tabu was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2011.
For Tabu and Priyanka Chopra, Bharat will mark their first outing together. The makers have confirmed the presence of Tabu in Bharat. However they refused to divulge any details about the role of Tabu in Bharat. Ali Abbas Zafar has shared the pic of Tabu on his Twitter and captioned it, “Finally it’s happening , so excited to work with you 🙂 lots of love @tublb 🙂 @Bharat_TheFilm @BeingSalmanKhan @priyankachopra @DishPatani @WhoSunilGrover.”
According to the makers, Bharat will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi in India.
Recently during the media interaction, Ali Abbas Zafar opened up about the role of Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra. He said, “Bharat is a mature, subtle love story and her character is the soul of the film. She stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Salman in his journey and is the catalyst who triggers what will be a turning point in the plot.”
In Bharat, Salman Khan will be seen sporting five different looks spanning 60 years, wherein a crucial part will showcase the actor in his late 20s, looking much leaner and younger. Salman Khan will also be recreating his ‘Karan Arjun’ look for this upcoming film Bharat.
On the otherside, Salman Khan will be next seen in upcoming action adventure Race 3. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Saqib Saleem, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah in supporting role, which is scheduled to hit the theaters on 15th June.
