Sukumar's Rangasthalam is the much-anticipated period drama set in the backdrop of the year 1985 starring Ram Charan and Samantha in the lead roles. Aadi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu are playing vital roles in the movie. The makers have already announced the film will have a worldwide release on March 30th.
But Ram Charan has got two unexpected competitors for his film. The much-awaited biopic of veteran actress Savitri titled as Mahanati is all set to hit the silver screens on March 29th just a day before the release of Rangasthalam. On the other hand makers of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's MLA movie are also planning to release the movie on March 28th. This is a sort of confusion to audiences as to why Tollywood is unnecessarily bringing hefty competition all at once.
Some trade sources are underestimating Rangasthalam movie which is why the makers of Mahanati and MLA are releasing their respective film without any hesitation. Also, as there are many big movies are slated for a release in April including Bharath Anu Nenu, Naa Peru Surya and 2 Point 0, many producers don't want to miss March ending date (early Summer release) even though it is to compete with Rangasthalam.
Anyway, expectations on these three late-March releases are high. But none of the time we can predict a film's fate at the box office, whether there is competition or not. So hope, Rangasthalam, Mahanati and MLA will prove their mettle and do well, unlike Sankranthi where everyone failed miserably.
