Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu has managed to receive a decent response on its opening day at the box office. The slice of life film collected Rs 2.87 crore yesterday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collections on his twitter handle, “#TumhariSulu picked up after a slow start in the morning shows… Fri ₹ 2.87 cr. India biz… Expected to register robust growth over the weekend.” Since the film has received rave reviews from the critics, we can expect a good growth over the weekend from the film at the ticket windows.
Apart from Vidya Balan, the performances of Manav Kaul, Neha Dhupia and Malishka were also lauded by the critics. Since Vidya Balan’s previous films like Begum Jaan, Kahaani 2, Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Te3n have failed to create magic at the box office, Tumhari Sulu is definitely is very crucial for the actress to bring back her career on track. Being a niche release, Tumhari Sulu is made on the tight budget of Rs 17 crore including its promotions and advertising cost. In fact, the film has already recovered its investment and earned profits through satellite, overseas and other rights.
The film has received fantastic reviews from the critics across the country. Our critic, Tushar Joshi also praised the film and said, “Tumhari Sulu is funny, dramatic, engaging and entertaining at the same time. Vidya and Manav give performances that will shine on their resumes for a lifetime. Watch it if you ever felt ‘I can do this!’ while pursuing a secret dream. Tumhari Sulu is a must watch!”
