For the first time in the recent past, MPs of both Telugu Desam and YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, have together taken task of of the Union Railway Ministry, accusing them of ignoring their pleas with regard to various railway projects and works in the state. They have lashed out at South Central Railway higher-ups protesting the lack of concern over pending railway issues and problems related to the state.
TDP MPs Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, J C Divakar Reddy, YSRCP MPs Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy and YV Subba Reddy came down heavily on railway officials during the meeting with South Central Railway general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav in Vijayawada.
The general manager arranged the meeting to discuss the issues prevailing in various Parliament constituencies of Andhra Pradesh. They have lamented over the poor response of officials on the problems they raise every year regarding State and their respective constituencies.
Outspoken Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said such meetings serving no purpose except serving some snacks and tea. He accusing that the Railway Board is negligent towards the state and not making any move with regard to creating of new zone at Visakhapatnam. He He also did not spare Railway Minister Suresh Parbhu.
“We cannot consider him as “ours” though he is representing Andhra Pradesh in Rajya Sabha. He did not come to AP but pressed buttons from Delhi to inaugurate railway projects,” he added.
