India-Japan sign 15 agreements in the summit

In a joint press statement addressed by PM Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, few key agreements were signed. Important agreements were in the domain of clean energy and nuclear energy. Both leaders agreed that 12th India Japan annual summit has expanded the horizon of their bilateral relationship

3 sets of documents were exchanged in the joint press statement

First document contained the four exchange of notes on official development assistance between the Government of India and the Government of Japan. It includes the project for the construction of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-speed rail and the construction of international cooperation and convention centre in Varanasi.

Two memorandum of cooperation were exchanged, first between the ministry of exterbnal affarirs (GOI) and ministry of foreign affairs (Japan)in the field of Japanese language education in India and the second was between the Government Of India and Government of Japan for the India Japan act east forum.

Exchange of record of discussions between the civil aviation authorities of India and Japan

There was also an agreement to improve India's soft power potential using Japanese technologies.

PM Modi spoke about their shared experience in understanding the Gandhian philosophy during their visit to Dandi Kutir.

PM Modi also highlighted Japanese efforts in the fields of clean and sustainable energy.
