A three-member committee including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and another member will have to sit in CM Office, Amaravati to select the Chief Commissioner of Right to Information and three other commissioners.
Jagan was informed about this meeting 10 days ago but he refused to attend it due to his ongoing Padayatra and offered to send his representative. But the government refused saying that there is no such provision and the meeting will go on without Jagan.
These are crucial appointments in which the Opposition Leader will have a say. But Jagan missed it due to his Padayatra. As many as 300 have applied for the post which includes retired IAS and IPS officials as well. Those retired from Telangana Cadre have also applied.
