Five-year-old Prabhat Chouhan of Kudebhar in UP’s Sultanpur district can never forget this holi. The scar left by this festival of colours will remain with him for life.

During the holi revelry, he ran close to a grass-cutter and an iron rod pierced the right side of his chest. The rod came out from his back.

Shocked parents rushed the boy to the hospital in neighbouring Faizabad. The boy was fully in his senses and was talking even while screaming in pain. Thankfully, the rod did not tear the lungs.

The boy was operated upon for several hours to safely remove the iron rod. The boy is recovering in the hospital now.
