KUPPAM: More than 1,000 persons, including police personnel, students and the general public, participated in the blood donation camp at Kuppam on Friday, organised by the police as part of the Police Martyrs Commemoration Week.
Circle inspector (Kuppam) M. Rajasekhar, who inaugurated the camp, said it was a matter of joy to the police that a large number of students and public joined it. He said that during the last few days, students of various schools and colleges in and around Kuppam were playing an active role in the commemoration week activities.
“For blood donation, we have considered the final year students of degree and engineering colleges. A lot of awareness is being generated in hundreds of villages in the Kuppam region regarding blood donation, helmet rule and road safety,” Mr Rajasekhar said.
A major blood donation camp organised jointly by the Rotary Club, Vizianagaram, the Rotary Blood Bank, Visakhapatnam, and the Indian Red Cross Society was inaugurated by DIG (Visakha Range) C.H.
