Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will hold talks with the State Advocate-General on his Cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu appearing on a TV show.
He will discuss the issue with Advocate-General to seek his legal opinion on Sidhu working with television as he was a minister now.
In an interview with a TV channel, he was quoted as saying that he had cordial ties with Sidhu, but his association with the entertainment industry would have to be looked into as Sidhu holds a post of a minister in his cabinet.
According to a senior lawyer, RK Anand, Sidhu can act but cannot earn profits from television shows and his acting cannot interfere with or influence his ministerial work.
However, Sidhu has said that he will continue with his TV work as it is his source of income. At present he is working as a judge with a hugely popular comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show.
The entertainment industry comes under the Tourism and Culture Ministry while Sidhu is Local Bodies, Tourism and Culture Minister of Punjab.
