Hyderabad: The adverse comments made by TRS leaders on ministers generated political heat within the ruling party, besides causing huge embarrassment to its leadership.
Mahabubnagar MLA and union leader V. Srinivas Goud on Friday came out in open support of home minister Nayani Narasimha Red-dy, who had said that those who were not associated with, Telangana statehood agitation or those who abused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during the agitation, became Cabinet ministers and people’s representatives of the TRS.
Both the leaders said anti-Telangana and anti-KCR forces bagged plum posts in TRS government.
Mr Goud said, “My eyes fill with tears when I see such persons who were never associated with the Telanga-na agitation or those who abused KCR during the agitation walking in front of me as ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs. Telangana State was achieved with the support of employees, students and all sections of society. Without employees, there was no Sakala Janula Samme. It was because of Sakala Janula Samme that the Centre was forced to bifurcate AP and create Telangana State.”
It all began Nayani’s remarks on such leaders during a New Year dairy release event at Basheerbagh Press Club on Thursday.
Interestingly, both the leaders claimed that there was a ‘strong reason’ behind Rao taking such leaders into TRS fold.
Though the leaders did not name anyone, they were venting their ire against ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Kadiam Srihari, P. Mahender Reddy and T. Nageshwar Rao who were not part of the statehood agitation.
TRS chief and CM K.Chandrasekhar Rao who was in farmhouse, rushed to Pragathi Bhavan on Friday evening and discussed the issue with some of the party’s key leaders.
He was said to be angry with both the leaders for making adverse remarks publicly and directed them to give an explanation.
He said such actions would damage the party’s image and electoral prospects.
