Why Was Chandrababu-Led Front's Meeting Postponed To January?

Of late, Chandrababu Naidu is doing hop-skip-jump from one state headquarter to another. The reason? To cobble up a credible opposition to the ruling Modi-led BJP. For this he has gone North and has dived south. He flew to Bengal and met people ranging from Mamta Banerjee to HD Deve Gowda, from Stalin of the DMK to Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party.  He is trying to get close to the Congress and is also forcing Mamta Didi to join hands with her arch rivals - the Communists. He is setting aside decades of rivalry with the Congress to defeat the BJP.

Chandrababu proudly announced that the alliance would be cobbled up very soon and that there would be a meeting of the parties within a week. But suddenly came the shocker. The meeting, which was to be held next week, is postponed till January. This means, a gap of at least 50 days. This has come as a dampener for Chandrababu.

Though the parties are saying that the meeting would be held to coincide with the next session of Parliament, the reality is every party is in a wait and watch mode till December 11, when the election results are out. The parties want to see the outcome and see which party has grown strong after the elections. The parties also want to cut Chandrababu to size as they feel that he could dominate them in the name of a front. They feel that after the election results,Chandrababu would be under their leash and will not try to dominate others.

This is the real reason why the front's meeting has been postponed to January.
