MLA Who Made CBN Leave Hyd Rewarded

Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson became a popular personality in the Telugu States with the cash-for-vote case. Way back in June 2015, Revanth Reddy was caught redhanded offering Rs 50 lakh out of Rs 5 crore deal to make Stephenson vote for TDP in the MLC Elections. Stephenson helped Telangana ACB trap not only TDP MLAs Revanth Reddy and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah but also their Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu with the tapping of phone conversation. Forensic Science Laboratory has confirmed the voice is that of the AP Chief Minister. Following these developments, TDP Supremo shifted his base to Amaravati in a hurry.

And now, Elvis Stephenson has been rewarded for remaining loyal to the TRS Government. Today, KCR has re-nominated Stephenson as an MLA of Telangana Assembly under the Anglo-Indian Quota. Two-Member TRS Cabinet (KCR & Mahmood Ali) has given consent to the decision. The proposal has been forwarded to the Governor for approval.

Cash-for-Vote Case continues to irk AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. 12 out of 15 TDP MLAs joined TRS and even merged the party. And, TDP wasn't even able to retain all of those remaining three seats. In the recent elections, The 35 year old party managed to win only two seats.

Generally, Nominated MLAs will be appointed months after the New Assembly is constituted. Even Stephenson's nomination as MLA in the first term happened 5 months after the formation of TRS Government. This time, It happened within one month and he gets an opportunity to take oath along with elected MLAs on January 17th. That's the reward he received from TRS Leadership!
