Happy Birthday Shruti Haasan: The Multitalented Actress

Introduced to the showbiz world as the daughter of legendary thespian Kamal Haasan, it hardly took any time for Shruti Haasan to establish herself as a multi-talented actress with hands-on experience in singing and music direction. Celebrating her 32nd birthday in Los Angeles, Shruti has recently wrapped up her first-ever music gig in the UK. The gorgeous diva rocked the stage in London by singing to her original tunes at the famous Troubadour. She recently took a brief break from acting to reassess things and reshape her film career.

Immensely popular in South Indian languages like Telugu and Tamil, Shruti started off her heroine tenure with the 2009 Bollywood film ‘Luck’ and starred in several films like ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’, ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’, ‘D-Day’ and ‘Gabbar Is Back’ over the years. In the second half of 2018, the ‘Gabbar Singh’ actress made her debut as a host for a celebrity chat show. Following the footsteps of her father, Shruti succeeded in garnering terrific response for the show with her dazzling interaction skills and cute mannerisms. She is head over heels in love with London-based actor Michael Corsale.

At just six years, Shruti Haasan sang her first song in the musical album of her father’s 1992 film ‘Kshatriya Putrudu’ composed by ‘Ilaiyaraaja’. She followed up it a few years later with the evergreen ‘Chupadi Chupadi Chaachi’ from ‘Chachi 420’, ‘Rama Rama’ from ‘Hey Ram’ and a couple more. Her first celluloid appearance was a cameo role as Vallabhbhai Patel’s daughter in the Tamil-Hindi bilingual ‘Hey Ram’ helmed by Kamal. Elder daughter of former Indian actress Sarika, Shruti completed her education in Chennai & Mumbai, before leaving to California to learn the nuances of music at the Musicians Institute.
