Eccentric filmmaker Mani Ratnam has skipped the audio launch of Ok Bangaram (Telugu version of Ok Kanmani) much to the dismay of his Telugu fans. Mani's absence at the music launch was conspicuous and producer Dil Raju has managed to make it a star-studded event by inviting the likes of Nani, Nikhil, Sai Dharam Tej. Since no one could substitute Mani, his absence at the audio event is expected to cost the promotion of the film.
"Had Mani and Rahman attended the audio launch, it'd have been different and the impact of publicity would have been big and create huge buzz. Mani has good market in Telugu," shared an industry source.
Even Mani had promoted his previous film Kadali in big way in Telugu where Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and his troop were present while the Rahman performed for a live-in concert at the do. But little did he do for Ok Bangaram. Especially since Mani is battling with string of flops, promotion for his upcoming film Ok Bangaram become necessary. It needs to be seen how Dil Raju alone could draw crowds. The film starring Nithya Menen, Dulqar Salman is slated for April 17 release. Not even the film's cast had an interaction with Telugu media so far.
