Power star Pawan Kalyan, who launched Jana Sena Party before the last general elections and campaigned for the Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance in Seemandhra, has now begun a campaign against TDP government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.

On Friday, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party activists led a massive rally of farmers at Bethapudi of Mangalagiri mandal in Guntur district in protest against the forcible acquisition of fertile land by the AP government for the new capital.

The farmers held banners and placards with Pawan Kalyan’s picture and raised slogans against the government.

“It is not proper for the government, which should protect the interests of farmers, to deprive them of their livelihood by forcibly acquiring their lands. If fence, which is supposed to protect the field, itself eats the crops, where can the farmers go?” they argued. They also wanted Pawan Kalyan to speak up against Chandrababu Naidu.

Apparently, Pawan Kalyan has the backing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is trying to establish itself an alternative force in Andhra Pradesh. In future, Pawan Kalyan might merge his party with the BJP, say sources.
