The BJP is planning to bring in a host of leaders next week to campaign for the MLC elections scheduled on March 22.
According to party leaders, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Uma Bharathi and Bandaru Dattatreya are likely to tour Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda district campaigning for party candidate Errabelli Rammohan Rao for the Graduates Constituency election.
On Sunday, the party floor leader in Assembly K Laxman took part in a series of campaign meetings arranged by the district unit at Jangaon, Warangal, Hanamkonda among other places.
At a meeting of intellectuals held at Hanamkonda late Saturday evening, candidate Errabelli Rammohan Rao said he and his wife were totally engaged in social work and had even sold out their property to serve the rural poor children.
Mr Laxman, MLC K Dileep, senior leader T Rajeswar Rao appealed to voters to think twice before voting.
Meanwhile, the TDP also stepped up its campaign in favour of Mr Rammohan Rao as the parties were in alliance. TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao lashed out at the TRS which he accused of taking unilateral decisions and anti-people decisions.
