Legendary Director's Explosive statement

Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja issued a statement blaming Centre for its stoic silence on the Cauvery water issue despite violent incidents.

Bharathiraja opined Kannada Organizations have stimulated murderous attacks on Tamilians and set their vehicles ablaze. He alleged Karnataka Government and Politicial Parties in the neighboring state were behind the violence. He questions why Centre maintained silence inspite of tense situation on Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border for the past one week. He feels Union Government have got the responsibility to intervene and find a permanent solution to the burning issue.

The Senior Director states Tamil Nadu is known for its hospitality. He says State and Central Governments need to ensure there is no harm for the properties and lives of Tamilians in Karnataka.

Bharathiraja said lots of Tamilians have taken part in India's freedom movement led by Subash Chandra Bose. He recalled the incident where a Tamilian sacrificed his life to save Gandhi in Africa and the words of Mahatma, 'I would like to be born as Tamilian if I have another birth'.

In his statement, Bharathiraja mentioned about 1.5 lakh Tamilians death in LTTE movement and encounter of 20 Tamilians in AP for red sandalwood smuggling. He cautioned Centre to find a solution before situation goes out of control and youngsters decide to govern their regions on their own.
