The promos of Gopichand’s latest flick Loukyam, have caught on quite well with the audience. Directed by Srivas, this film has Rakul Preet as the female lead, and Anup Rubens composes the music score. After a round of huge promotions, this film has released all over today. Let’s see whether Gopichand gets his much needed hit.
Story
Venky aka Venkateswarlu (Gopichand) helps sister of a goon Babji
(Sampath Raj) run away from her house and marry her lover in Warangal.
Later he escapes from them and reaches Hyderabad. Venky falls in love
with Chandrakala (Rakul Preet Singh) in Hyderabad.
He expresses
her love to Chandrakala but surprise awaits when Keshav Reddy( Mukesh
Rishi) gang attacks her and he tries saving her. At the sametime he
comes to know that Babji captured his parents. To know the surprise and
how Venky saved his parents enjoy Loukyam on silver screen.
Performance
Gopichand performed well as a lover boy and action scenes. His comedy
timing is also good. Rakul Preet Singh looked beautiful. Comedy of
Brahmanandam, 30 yrs Prithvi is good. Sampath acted well as a caring
brother and villain.
Mukesh Rishi is ok as other villain. Hamsa
Nandini sizzled in special song and appearance. Others like Posani,
Chandra Mohan, Raghu Babu performed according to the story.
Plus Points
The entire set up, story and the way this flick has been executed is
quite good. Loukyam is an complete image makeover for Gopichand, and he
passes with flying colors in this family entertainer. He looks dashing
and carries the entire film on his shoulders. He is pretty good in the
comedy scenes, and showcases his talent aptly.
Rakul Preet is yet
another plus for this film. She looks gorgeous, and nicely compliments
Gopichand in every department. Once again, Brahmanandam entertains as
Sippy. Some of his scenes with Chandra Mohan and Hamsa Nandini have come
out extremely well. But it is 30 Years industry Pruthvi, who steals the
show with his hilarious comedy during the end.
Music of the film
is yet another bonus, and all the songs have been shot quite well.
Second half of the film is quite entertaining and has been executed
well. Hamsa Nandini adds the necessary glamor and comedy quotient to the
film. Raghu Babu and Roller Raghu bring in decent laughs.
Minus Points
Once again, story of the film is quite routine and has nothing new in
it. Even though the first half has a few laughs and romance, the actual
story kicks off only during the interval point.
Even though the
second half starts with a bang, routine family set up and comedy come in
to the picture. At least one song in the first half could have been
easily chopped off. After a point, the film gets predictable and a bit
lengthy.
Technical
Camerawork in the film is quite decent, and showcases the film in a good
light. Director Srivas should also applauded for the way he has
presented Gopichand in a handsome and entertaining way. Even though he
chooses a predictable story, the way he executes the film with ample
entertainment is pretty good. Dialogues are quite simple and have been
written decently.
As said earlier, screenplay of the film is a
bit slow and gets predictable at times. Music of the film is good as
Anup Rubens has given some lovable and peppy tunes. Having said that,
the way songs have been placed leaves a lot to be desired. Editing is
quite good but could have gone away with a few unnecessary scenes in the
second half.
Analysis
Loukyam is a feel good romantic entertainer with commercial elements. Though its a tried and tested story line, treatment is new with hilarious screenplay. Best comedy is incorporated, resulting Loukyam to be a best comedy caper for this weekend than a romantic flick.
Both first and second half are equally filmed at a good pace. But the actual plot starts with the interval bang and ends with a predictable second half.Final Word
Loukyam is a lovely Entertainer.
