It’s been 10 days since actor Naga Chaitanya said he was in talks with his ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ director Gautham Menon for a new project and that nothing was finalised yet. However, it looks like the actor has indeed made up his mind to star in the acclaimed director’s next.
A source says, “The actor was initially expected to star in this venture after wrapping up Chandoo Mondeti’s next but with ‘Dohchay’ faring poorly at the box-office, he has hit the panic button and decided to complete Menon’s project first. He didn’t want to take a risk with a fairly new director straightaway though he loved Chandoo’s script.”
The source adds that Chay will be shooting for the Telugu version of the maker’s ‘Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada’, a romantic drama. The Tamil version sees Simbu in the lead role and Menon has already shot some portions of it. “The fresh schedule will commence from Monday in Chennai and will go on for 45 days.
A Malayalam actress has been roped in to play the leading lady but it remains to be seen whether Menon will stick with her for both the languages. AR Rahman is on board to compose tunes,” the source adds. Chandoo’s film will go to floors once Chaitanya wraps up Menon’s film.
