Dasari Sir, It's A Day Dream Only

5th May, 2015 10:42am     Tollywood      Comments
Over and over, veteran director and all-rounder Dasari Narayana Rao has stood by the needy in film industry when justice diminished and monopoly has taken over. Many times, his satires sound right and his words represent truth. We could agree with them 100 times but not once with his 400 crore dream.

Before taking leave from Tollywood, Dasari has this dream of adapting the 18 days of Mahabharata war into a silver screen marvel. He wants to bring the intricacies of the night discussions happened in war-time during the final combat between Pandavas and Kauravas. He revealed that this Mahabharata project could be made in 4 parts and each parts costs nearly 100 crores. On a whole it will be a 400 crore project, a budget that any other Indian film in history hasn't had till date, and Dasari offered to unveil complete details very soon.

To research historic places and outfits, design sets and action sequences using creativity and visual effects, and to film the whole stuff with huge star-cast, a director like Rajamouli took 3 years and after having meticulous experience in dealing visual effects and all.  During the good black and white days, filming mythologies and epic films is different but now it's a big game altogether. At this juncture, how long it will take for Dasari to communicate with new technology and make his Mahabharata dream realize?

Truly, this is not for discouraging Dasari, but investing that much money provided with the kind of box office record he's having these days, will be a nightmare for investors. Rather riding a lion with 400 crores budget, it's better not to touch it. Let the dream remain a day dream.
