Super Star Rajinikanth's Lingaa distributors sought police protection. They met Police Commissioner at Chennai in his office and submitted a letter informing him that they are meeting Super Star Rajinikanth to request him to help him bail them out of Lingaa losses. They even requested protection from police.
In their letter they informed that Lingaa didnot do well at the box office. Distributors in their letter mentioned that the film collected only 1.5 crores in Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari areas while they bought the rights for 4-20 crores. They mentioned this resulted in severe losses to theater owners. Speaking to media distributors informed that they are meeting Rajinikanth on Monday at his Srri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, Kodambakkam, Chennai and requested police to provide
protection for them.
