The suspense over the next venture of Ace Filmmaker Shankar has almost come to an end. Yes, Its going to be a sequel of 'Robo' which still remains as a biggest grosser down South.

Shankar has decided to cast Rajinikanth as hero in 'Robo 2' and he has no alternative for this role. It was the choice of Villain which delayed the official announcement of the craxy project. At first, Shankar approached Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. Later, He went to Kamal Haasan. Neither of these stars were interested in the project. Finally, He offered the role to Vikram and got the nod from the versatile actor.

AR Rahman is likely to compose music for 'Robo 2'. Ayngaran International and Lyca will be jointly producing this highest budgeted movie. An official announcement from the makers is expected very soon.
