Rani Padmini, the upcoming Aashiq Abu project, started rolling. Rani Padmini, which is said to be a women-centric muti-starrer flick, will have Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in the title roles.
Shine Tom Chacko, will portray an important role in the movie. The actor is all set to bounce back into the industry after being allowed bail upon the infamous cocaine case.
The movie is said to be an out-and-out thriller, depicted in the backdrop of the journey of two women, who are totally strangers to each other. Rani Padmini will be shot at various locations of Kochi, Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh.
According to Aashiq Abu, Rani Padmini is an experimental movie. The director states that he always wanted to experiment with such a film, as women-centric multi-starrers are a very rare genre in Malayalam.
Expectations are riding on the flick, as Aashiq Abu's last women-centric film, 22 Female Kottayam was a critical and commercial success. Interestingly, Shyam Pushkaran, who scripted 22 Female Kottayam, is the writer of Rani Padmini.
Sajitha Madathil, Jinu Joseph, Sreenath Bhasi, Dileesh Pothen etc will play the supporting roles in Rani Padmini. Madhu Neelakandan handles the cinematography and Bijibal compose the music. The movie is produced by Fort Entertainment.
