After playing Rajinikanth's sister in Kochadaiiyaan, danseuse Rukmini Vijaykumar will be doing a cameo in the Dhanush-Amitabh Bachchan film Shamitabh. Confirming the news, Rukmini says, "One of Balki's assistants, whom I have worked with previously, suggested my name to him. It is a guest role, and it is a humorous one."

Rukmini reveals that she will be sharing screen space with Dhanush. "We shot for about a week and it was fun shooting with Balki and Dhanush," says Rukmini. Ask her why she is taking up only supporting roles, and she says, "Dance is definitely my priority. Films take up to six months and it is a big commitment. It is difficult to manage both. However, since my last two films were with established stars and known directors, I didn't have any reason to turn down the offers."
