Turning down an offer of a role with JrNTR? That's almost a no-brainer in Tollywood. But R NarayanaMurthy, known for his left-leaning movies, has done just that. NarayanaMurthy, who has created a niche for his brand of movies that show him fighting for the underdog, has turned down PuriJagannadh's offer of a well-etched role in Temper.
It's a known fact in the industry, that Puri is an admirer of the Erra Sainyam star, and has even dedicated his earlier film 'Cameraman Gangatho...' to the legend of red cinema. "Puri has a soft corner for this Leftist actor for his single-minded devotion in churning out revolutionary films. So, Puri designed a special role for him opposite NTR in his latest film Temper.
Initially, R Narayana Murthy liked the role, and even met NTR and appeared willing to move from the comfort of his off-beat movies to the rough and tumble of commercial medium. But after a few weeks, the actor called up and declined the offer," reveals a source.
Apparently, "Narayana Murthy didn't want to move to mainstream cinema and was content making his kind of movies," source adds. Word is that the offer included a hefty sum. "It's true that we approached Narayana Murthy for a key role, but I can't talk about money, and anyway he declined the offer," says a source, close to production house.
