This is sensational. Baahubali The Beginning, after shattering numerous records across the world, has now created an unimaginable record in Karnataka. According to the Kannada trade analysts' reports, Baahubali has collected a humongous 40 crore net in just 9 days to become the all-time industry hit in the state, even surpassing several Kannada blockbusters.
In its dream run so far, Baahubali has managed to wipe out the box-office records of existing Kannada blockbusters like Ugramm with a gross of 30 crore, Sudeep's Manikya (35 crore), Krantiveera Sangoli Rayanna (40 crore) and Mumgaru Male (50 crore). With no big releases around and considering its dream run at the ticket windows, Baahubali is sure to collect more decent numbers and hugely widen its profit margin compared to that of other biggies.
However, Baahubali could manage to achieve this dream feat so quickly, as the tickets rates were almost the double compared to several Kannada top grosser. Several multiplexes sold the tickets at flat rates ranging from Rs. 200 to 450. Baahubali has smashed the previous non-Kannada film, PK's record of 12.05 crores, with nearly triple the margin, and this speaks volumes about the film's range in the Sandalwood.
