Rough is my biggest action film till days, says Aadi

With a little over a fortnight to go for Aadi's wedding, the actor seems to have his hands full, trying to strike a balance between his wedding preparations and promoting his latest release, Rough. "I have been promoting my film and shopping for my wedding at the same time. It's been quite some multitasking and I have never been so tense in my life," says Aadi, laughing.

Pre-wedding stress apart, the making of the film has been a huge challenge in itself. "It's been a stressful journey, but I never lost faith in the film. Even though we shot the film in bits and pieces, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the rushes. Somehow, the action image has stuck with me right from my first film, Prema Kavali onwards, and after a long time, I have gone all out to deliver my best. It's my biggest action film till date," proclaims Aadi, as he gets talking about his next release. The action film has been under production since January last year, but Aadi believes, "everything happens for good."

Tipped to be a 'simple love story with plenty of action', the movie is directed by CH Subba Reddy and has Rakul Preet Singh playing the female lead. Aadi's chiseled sixpack frame has generated a lot of buzz around the movie. Admittedly, the actor had no plans of taking his shirt off when signing up for the film.

"Stunt masters Ram-Laxman had choreographed a rain fight sequence in Vizag which gave me goosebumps. That's when it struck me that I need to really work on my body to make the audience believe that I can pull off all those stunts. It took me nearly nine months to get into shape and I am quite proud to say that I didn't cheat on my workout routine or diet even for a day. More importantly, I relied on protein shakes, fruits and vegetables to build my six-pack body, especially for the climax action sequence. The director was keen on shooting it a little earlier, but I kept pushing it, because I felt I could work more to sport a toned physique.Thankfully, the response has been phenomenal so far," Aadi admits, adding, "I was quite inspired by Farhan Akhtar's determination to transform himself for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag."

Rough, produced by Abhilash Madhavaram and presented by M Sudarshan Rao under Sridevi Entertainments banner, is releasing today.
