NEW YORK: Dr. Chad P. Gehani, D.D.S., a Jackson Heights, New York-based endodontist, was recently installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA).
Gehani’s installation took place in San Antonio at the ADA’s 155th Annual Meeting, according to a press release.
Gehani will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the Second District, which encompasses New York State. The ADA Board formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA’s governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the ADA Board, Gehani will play a major role in the organization’s objective of being America’s leading advocate for oral health.
Gehani has served as President of the New York State Dental Association (2011-2012), the Queens County Dental Society (2003), the International College of Dentists – New York Section (2012) and the Indian Dental Association, U.S.A. (1985-1986).
He has served as Chair of the Department of Endodontics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center from 1987 to the present, and is an Associate Clinical Professor at Collage of Dentistry, New York University. He has also been a member of the New York State Dental Foundation since 2005.
Among the many recognitions Gehani has received include the New York State Dental Foundation’s Award of Excellence in Community Service (2006), the Emil Lentchner Distinguished Service Award from the Queens County Dental Society (2013) and he was honored by the President of the Dominican Republic (2003).
Gehani has also earned fellowships with the Pierre Fauchard Academy, International College of Dentists and American College of Dentists.
The not-for-profit ADA is the nation’s largest dental association, representing 157,000 dentist members. The premier source of oral health information, the ADA has advocated for the public’s health and promoted the art and science of dentistry since 1859.
