Police Identify Victim in Dorchester Murder

Boston Police have identified the woman killed in Dorchester Saturday afternoon.

Police found Audilia DaVeiga, 33, “suffering from life-threatening injuries” when they responded to a call about a person shot at 45 Bowdoin Street. DaVeiga died at the scene, according to a Boston Police statement.

Both The Boston Globe and Fox25 report that DeVeiga was the sister of a Boston Police officer.

Her shooting and death touched off a search for Paulo Rosa, who was named a suspect in the crime. Rosa was found dead early Sunday morning. Police discovered his body in a thicket of woods near the border between Rehoboth and Swansea, near Fall River.
