Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed a PepsiCo bottling plant at gunpoint while dressed in a Pepsi uniform.
According to police, the suspect entered the plant at 1555 Mack Ave. around 8 a.m. Oct. 23, wearing a blue Pepsi skullcap and a blue Pepsi jacket. He was carrying a silver handgun.
He is described as being in his 30s, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 with a medium complexion and weighing approximately 180 pounds.
"He entered the business and approached the complainant, who works in the office (near) the safe," Officer Adam Madera said after the incident last month. "He told her not to push the panic button."
The suspect was given a duffel bag with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
The plant is surrounded by fencing and workers need to swipe a card or get buzzed in for access. Madera said it's unknown how the suspect got onto the property.
PepsiCo, the parent company for Pepsi, released a statement after the incident, saying: "The safety of our employees is our top priority, and we are working closely with local authorities on their investigation."
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 773-2587.
