Factionalism case booked on Paritala son
Dharmavarmam: Dharmavaram rural police booked cases against Rayalaseema political leader Paritala Ravindra’s son, Sriram, and 12 others for attempt to kill their faction rival, Kamireddypalli Sudhakar Reddy, of the Congress in Dharmavaram mandal, Anantapur district, on Monday.
The police are also probing Rapthadu MLA Paritala Sunitha’s alleged role in the case and that of her close aide, D. Chaman.
Dharmavaram DSP Sheik Navabjan and CI Narasingappa on Monday said that Sriram, Nagur Hussain and Sunitha’s driver Ramu hatched a plan to eliminate Sudhakar Reddy, a rival of Hussain for the last decade-and-a-half.
Hussain, with Ramu, and 10 others close to the Paritala family, waylaid Sudhakar at Kanuthur bridge, having learnt that he was to attend court at Dharmavaram on December 30. However, rural SI Karim, on a tip-off, set upon them and took three persons into custody while seven others escaped.
Those arrested are V. Nagaraju of Venkatapuram, Ramakrishna of Papirreddy Palli and M. Sreenivasulu of Ramagiri.
