Hyderabad: B. Ramalinga Raju today urged Special Judge B.V.L.N. Chakravarthi of the Central Bureau of Investigation court to reduce the quantum of punishment in view of social welfare activities that he had taken up.
The special CBI court on Thursday found B. Ramalinga Raju, his two brothers and seven others guilty in the multi-crore Satyam scam that stunned the corporate world in 2009.
In his attempts to escape severe punishment and a prison term, Ramalinga Raju has been trying his level best to appeal to Judge B.V.L.N. Chakravarthi for a reduce the quantum of punishment.
Ramalinga Raju is believed to have told the judge that he needs to take care of his aged parents and is also believed to have given reasons that he is running an business school and was instrumental is introducing the 108 medical services.
