New Delhi: Union Urban Development Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu has led a delegation of AP BJP MPs and leaders to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Thursday seeking granting of special status to the state.
The BJP delegation has appealed to the Union Minister to implement the provisions of the AP Bifurcation Act in letter and spirit besides granting special status to the state as promised by the then prime minister Manmohan Singh in the Parliament.
Rajnath Singh assured them that the Centre is committed to implement all promises given to AP with regard to the bifurcation and also the provisions of the AP Bifurcation Act.
"We are committed to render justice to both Telugu states," Rajnath told them.
Venkaiah Naidu later told reporters that Congress has misinterpreted his comments over special status.
