Hyderabad: Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have briefed Governor E S L Narasimhan this afternoon over phone on the Seshachalam forest encounter where 20 red sanders woodcutters and smugglers were killed.
Earlier, Chandrababu Naidu is said to have held a high-level emergency meeting with Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao, DGP J V Ramudu, Labour Minister K. Atchan Naidu, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, Advisor (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar and Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao.
During the review meeting, Chandrababu is said to have instructed the officials and ministers to ensure proper medical treatment to those who were injured in the incident.
Chandrababu is also said to have instructed the DGP to hand over the bodies of the slain woodcutters and smugglers to their families after the post-mortem has been conducted.
