Hyderabad: Chief Justice of India Justice H.L. Dattu will visit Hyderabad High Court on December 6 to inaugurate the National Lok Adalat being organised by the Hyderabad High Court and the Legal Services Authority.
The CJI will arrive on December 5 at 7.15 pm and inaugurate the Lok Adalat on the next day. He will leave for New Delhi in the evening.
After formation of the separate state, and notifying the AP High Court as common High Court for TS and AP, it is the first visit of the CJI to the common capital.
As advocates of both states are demanding separate HCs, judicial officers are expecting that the CJI will review the bifurcation process of the existing High Court.
Meanwhile, the Legal Services Authority has as many as 1,831 cases to be settled thorough Lok Adalat and the HC has asked chief secretaries of both the states to identify the cases to be settled in the Lok Adalat.
