Hyderabad: Amidst complaints of weak leadership and speculations of K Jana Reddy, Telangana Congress Legislature Party (CLP), moving towards Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Congress high command was on the look out for a strong voice to lead the opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
According to sources, Jana Reddy may continue as the leader of CLP while the leader of opposition will be chosen from the 18 MLAs.
Following the complaints about Jana Reddy's weak representation, party high command sent AICC secretary RC Kuntia to Hyderabad to probe into the matter.
Party leaders observed that Jana Reddy was too soft against the very strong treasury bench led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. TRS Lok Sabha MP B Vinod Kumar recent meeting with Jana Reddy and speculations of Jana Reddy's son K Raghuveer Reddy joining TRS added strength to the party high command's decision to change the leadership of the opposition.
With this, guess works are going on about the next leader of opposition.
According to sources, since 13 MLAs out of the 18 belong to Reddy community, two from Kamma and three from SCs, the party may opt for a SC leader. Since Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, a Mala, is the working president, then automatically the option goes for SA Sampath Kumar, belonging to Madiga community.
