At present, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Assemblies have been operating simultaneously and people who have been watching the live proceedings on television can make out the difference: there has been a ruckus in AP Assembly, while Telangana Assembly appears to be running smoothly.
Reason is simple: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his team are provoking the major opposition party YSR Congress, leading to clashes. The ugly scenes that were witnessed in the last two days are attributed to highhanded behaviour of Naidu and the ruling TDP and also the aggressive stance taken by YSR Congress party leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
On the other hand, the Telangana Assembly has been running without any troubles, as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao acted ruthlessly and got the entire TDP members suspended not just for one day but for the entire session. As such, the T-TDP has not been able to play the role of YSR Congress party.
And according to reports, the Telangana Assembly is likely to continue without any further troubles for the rest of the session, as the Speaker decided that the opposition members, who try to storm or stall the proceedings will face the axe and will be thrown out.
Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary is likely to take a spontaneous decision to suspend indisciplined leaders from the House for rest of the days or for a single day if they mar the proceedings.
Legislature Affairs Minister T Harish Rao has clarified that the treasury benches will not hesitate to throw them out if they try to stall the proceedings.
“We are not ready to waste our time as the House ought to pass the bills and the budget”, he said.
“We will run the House as per schedule and a new tradition will begin”, he said. His remarks came at a time when the TD members are jinxed with ouster from the House.
He said the Opposition leaders cannot stall the session by storming the session with slogans and shouting that will only belittle the values of the House. If the Opposition leaders, irrespective of their affiliation come in the way, the treasury benches will throw them out, he added.
