Hyderabad: Sleuths of the South Zone task force busted a fake visa racket and nabbed a person for allegedly preparing fake travel documents of different countries on Saturday.
The accused faked visas by scanning the original ones with the help of a software and sold it to customers. The accused was identified as Nammiti Bharath Kumar, 43, a resident of Venkata Sai Apartments, South Kamalanagar, ECIL and a native of West God-avari district.
According to N. Koti Reddy, additional DCP, task force, Bharath had set up many businesses in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad after his graduation.
In 1998, he came to Hyderabad and settled down here. He eventually floated a consultancy for processing and obtaining passport and visa related documents to customers who planned to go abroad.
After he gained experience, he started preparing fake visas. He was earlier arrested twice for similar offences by the Begumpet and Shamshabad police in 2002, 2003 and 2010.
“After his release from prison, he continued to prepare fake tourist visas by scanning original employment visa and modified it with photoshop.
He also sent customers to Dubai on fake tourist visas. After reaching Dubai, the candidates destroyed the fake documents and travelled to Kuwait on their original visas,” said Mr Koti Reddy.
About seven fake visas, a computer, pen drive and other relevant material were seized from the accused. The accused and the seized material were further handed over to the Inspector of Police Abid Road for further action.
