Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh would lay foundation stone to the Andhra Pradesh State Agricultural University at Lapham in Guntur district on June 5. Disclosing this, State Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao said Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Srujana Chowdary and Nirmala Sitharaman would also be attending the foundation laying ceremony.

The State Agricultural University is different from the Central Agricultural University announced by the Center as part of the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act, he added. The issue of Central Agricultural University has been taken up with the Center and it is in the process. ‘Once the procedure for the same is completed then we will be finalising the place and date for the starting of the Central Agricultural University, the Minister said.
