Seeking Opposition cooperation in re-hauling Hyderabad as an international city and remove all ills plaguing it including waste disposal, water pollution, stinking nalas, low voltage, illegal constructions, the CM asserted there was no need to get scared of the plethora of problems which could be solved with determination.
“Problems are a plenty. But let us not be scared of it. We have just started. Let us take the Central government’s help. Let us all joins hands to bring about the change. This is the first step. Let us work together to solve the problem,” the CM said.
Mr Rao was interacting with Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya, ministers, city MPs, MLAs, MLCs, SCB members, GHMC and other senior officials on Swachh Hyderabad. On the problems facing the twin cities, he shared his experiences of his visit to old and new city, grievances of people at MCRHRD.
“We should not neglect the city further. If we delay it, we will never do it again. Let us solve it unitedly. We have to be careful. The government is ready to provide as much funds as possible. Let us stop talking and start working,” the CM added.
Thanking all of them for making Swachh Hyderabad a success, the CM said the condition of 72 nalas spread over 390 kms across Hyderabad were deplorable and needs immediate repairs besides clearing of all encroachments.
“Sanitation is equally bad. The 4,000 metric tons of waste generated daily is not being disposed of properly. We have to take a collective decision in this regard. I suggested we have four dump yards around the city 50 kms away. We have to have proper waste disposal mechanism. A delegation should visit Delhi and Nagpur to study the same,” he added.
The CM also wanted high tension wires passing through bastis to be removed in view of high fatalities, establishment of three new substations in the old city and other places to check low voltage and purchase new trolleys to carry waste.
