Chief Minister to present pearls on the occasion of celestial wedding on Srirama Navami

Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is set to embark on a three-day maiden visit to Khammam district from March 26. People in the district have high expectations on KCR’s visit to the district. The Chief Minister, during his visit to neighbouring district, made a spree of promises and kept the administration on its toes. He forced the administration to turn their attention on implementing welfare activities, like pension and housing scheme.  

High on agenda of KCR’s tour to this predominantly Tribal district is to signal the start of Manuguru power plant construction works. Apart from it, he will present pearls to on behalf of the State government on the occasion of celestial wedding of Lord Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy on March 28.

Knowing KCR’s penchant for promoting devotional centres, people in the region pin high hopes on him for some announcement to give a major fillip to temple tourism in Bhadrachalam on the lines of Yadagirigutta. The long-pending proposal to promote Bhadrachalam as “temple town,” completion of Ramayana Theme Park works and development of Parnasala are among several issues craving for State’s attention.

Besides reviewing the arrangements for the Godavari Pushkaralu, KCR may also lay his focus on long-pending irrigation projects – Rajiv and Indira Sagar projects. Sources said that during his stay in Khammam city, KCR is likely to take a decision on house sites to the poor. It’s learnt that about 5,000 beneficiaries, who have been given house site pattas long ago, were not shown their land. Lack of proper infrastructure in Khammam Municipal Corporation area is another major issue that is craving for the State government’s attention.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao is brimming with confidence that the district will see development like never before. The district administration is on a high alert and are ready with all the data pertaining to welfare schemes and developmental works in the region, sources said.
