Vasantha Rao (55) of YSRCP was brutally murdered on Friday. Local leader of YRSCP in Kurnool, Vasantha Rao was attacked by miscreants with sickles who hacked him to death in wee hours of Friday.

Vasantha Rao on his official work started to Hyderabad early on Friday. On his way, some unidentified people blocked his way and pelted stones at his car. As Vasantha Rao was forced to come out of car, he was attacked with sickles. Vasantha Rao died on spot, people nearby noticing Vasantha Rao's body informed police. This incident took place in Mahaboobnagar, Srisailam road. Police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem.
