Hyderabad: Speeding up the process, Telangana State government on Saturday allotted 1,031 acres of land to establish 4 X 270 MW thermal power projects in Khammam district. The projects are being taken up jointly by BHEL and the Telangana government. The projects are part of adding 6,000 mw of power to the existing power generation in the next three years.
The order said the land to an extent of 1031.19 acres of government/ assigned/shikam land had been allotted near Ramanujavaram village of Manuguru mandal and Edullabayyaram and Seetharampuram villages of Pinapaka mandal in Khammam district.
The government would also appoint Joint Collector of the district as project administrator for implementation of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R and R) policy to the affected and displaced families. Under the R and R policy, Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 would be implemented.
