Actress Anjali Devi statue @ Peddapuram

Late Tollywood actress Anjali Devi statue was unveiled at her native village at peddapuram in East Godavari district.The statue was unviled by his elder son Chenna Rao and entire village turn up for the event. Anjali Devi; A veteran Telugu actress and producer, acted in over 360 films and well known for her mythological role as Sita in Lava Kusa and glamorous roles in movies like Suvarna Sundari and Anarkali.

Nagaraju, Subramanyam who played the roles of Lava and Kusa in NTR, Anjali Devi starrer Lava Kusa attended the event and shared their sweet memories they had with the actress. Anjali Devi received various Awards, including Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2005 for her life time service to Telugu film industry; she was conferred with Ramineni Award given for 2006 in fine arts sections.

 She won the prestigious ANR National Award for 2007. She had a good run in the black and white classics in Tamil too, starring opposite the likes of T.R. Mahalingam, M.G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan and Gemini Ganesan. She breathed her last on 12 January 2014 in Chennai.
